Types of rebar
Based on its physique, rebar can be divided into plain rebar and threaded rebar. Plain rebar (plain rebar or reinforced bar) is reinforcing steel that has a flat or finless surface. Meanwhile, threaded concrete iron (deformed bar) is reinforcing steel which is characterized by transverse fins with a spiral-patterned surface. For complete information, see the following explanation.
Plain Concrete Iron
Plain concrete iron (plain bar) is reinforcing iron that has a smooth and slippery surface and cross-section. This iron tends to have a more tenuous microstructure compared to threaded rebar. In addition, plain rebar has steel properties that tend to be softer than threaded rebar with an average tensile strength result (TS – Tensile Strength) of plain rebar of 280 N/mm2.
Threaded Concrete Iron
Threaded concrete iron is concrete reinforcing steel whose surface has transverse and longitudinal fins / threads which aim to unite the building material elements with the frame composed by the threaded concrete iron.
